Standard Vehicle Rental Policy

    The renting location reserves the right to run an MVR report on any renter or additional renter. The renter may provide the renting location with an MVR report as long as it is not older the 1 day from the date and time of rental.

    All rentals must be returned during normal business hours. Renters who return after hours are responsible for any damage found on the vehicle when it is checked in by a representative of Sensible Car Rental of Kingston NY during normal business hours.

    Renters are responsible for obtaining police reports, in addition to reporting all accidents to the renting location within 24 hours of the incident. Renters are also responsible for all fines attached to parking tickets, EZ-PASS and moving violations.

    Renter agrees to return the rented vehicle in the same condition it was in when it was rented to them. Renter agrees to pay for cleaning and detailing when a rental is returned and it requires more than a standard cleaning.

    NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED IN ANY RENTAL VEHICLE.

    Age Requirements

    Minimum Age: 18
    Age 18 to 21 - Could be charged as an underage driver.
    Age 22 to 24 - This fee applies to any renter or additional renter between the ages of 22 and 24.

    Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. Renters and additional renters between the ages of 18 and 24 will be subject to an underage fee which is a daily add-on.

    Additional Drivers

    One additional drivers permitted an additional charge of $3.00 applies per day (per additional driver)

    Minimum Age for Additional Drivers: 18

    All additional renters must meet the same requirements as the primary renter. Proof of a personal auto policy.

    Deposit Requirements

    Cash deposits are accepted.
    CASH DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS

    All Cash Deposit renters must complete a Rental Application at least 48 hours prior to the date and time of rental. The application must provide the following information. 
    a) Proof of 2 years employment in the area. 
    b) Proof of residents. (Must have hard line phone). 
    c) FULL COVERAGE insurance (personal auto policy in your name) 
    d) Current MVR report. 
    e) Valid NY State D/L with current address.

    YOU MUST CONTACT THE RENTING LOCATION FOR ANY CHANGES IN REQUIREMENTS.
      The following are also accepted for deposit:

      Optional Charges and Coverage

      Physical Damage Waiver "PDW"

      Physical Damage Waiver is purchased by the renter to protect them against full financial responsibility for damage to the rented vehicle. The renter is still responsible to adhere to the terms of the rental agreement to keep the Physical Damage Waiver in force.
